When I was 5 years old my family moved from a suburban Connecticut home to one in the woods on a bluff in the Evergreen State. Washington; the Great Northwest, the great outdoors, a place for mountains, lakes, rivers, islands and the ocean. South of the San Juan Islands and north of Seattle in the Puget Sound is a long funny shaped strip of land called Whidbey Island.

On the south end in a fairly small community I grew up playing soccer, shredding Steven’s in the winter and skimboarding at Dooblay Blooph in the summer. I was and am stoked about anything and everything fun and at least

a little gnarly. My brother Duncan, a close friend John, and I started learning the ways of the skimboard from James Conners and Auston Reisman.

We became a tight crew of friends passionate about having a good time regardless, but mostly at the beach. Skimboarding quickly grew into something I love, something that we all love. When we started cutting and varnishing our own boards we lit a fire that is still burning. The Jack’d legend is spreading and the quality is nothing but the best. This is all due to the hard work and dedication of my brothers in the Jack’d Boards Crew.

I am thankful for one and all that have had a hand in the creation of our skim family. I consider myself lucky to have grown up in the most beautiful place in the world, the Northwest. I want to send out lots of respect and love to all my family and friends. Love life and eat good cheese.
